Derby Kids’ Camp is a 100% volunteer-run charity – relying on the enthusiasm and generosity of around 170 volunteers each year.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing a huge variety of experiences and skills to the charity. Derby Kids’ Camp volunteers range in age from our 16-year-old junior volunteers, through to those who are retired. Every year we have volunteers getting stuck in to their first year of camp alongside those who are in their third decade with the charity.
There are plenty of ways you can get involved! We have opportunities for Summer Camp Volunteers – working directly with the children or keeping everyone well fed as a Camp Cook! Every year we have volunteers join us to complete the residential requirement of their DofE award. Our Build & Take Down teams get our canvas village up and running (and safely put away again) each year. If camping’s not really your thing, there are management and organisational roles available within our committee.
