Sponsor a child’s holiday
Give ’em a break!
Could you make a real difference for a local child?
Every year, over 300 young children are nominated for a Derby Kids’ Camp holiday – because they really need a break from the challenges they face in their day-to-day lives.
This could be due to living in poverty, bereavement, being a young carer, difficulties with their mental health or social interaction, or more.
The free holiday they receive gives them valuable time to enjoy being a child. On their week away, they’ll experience new activities, new environments, and new food…as well as making lots of new friends and amazing memories!
The holidays make a lasting impact on the children, and we regularly hear from schools and families both how much they’ve enjoyed it, and the difference that’s been made to their confidence and independence. We’ve even had former DKC ‘kids’ rejoin us as volunteers in later years – determined to give back the amazing experience they had themselves to more children who need it.
Could you give ’em a break?
With no government or long-term funding, we raise the money to provide these holidays every year.
Like many organisations, our costs have gone up over the last few years, and a child’s holiday in 2024 is expected to cost £235.
This covers everything needed to give them a break – from transport to & from a location near home, through to their food, activities on site, trips off site and more. There are no costs for the families.

How your generous donations are spent…
In 2024, we’re aiming to raise around £80,000 to fund holidays for over 300 young children. This figure is raised from various grant giving trusts, events, and the generosity of our local businesses and local community.
Derby Kids’ Camp is entirely run by unpaid volunteers – including both the camps and the year-round management. This means that all money raised can go directly towards providing holidays for the kids who need them most.
Here’s the difference your donation could make:
£235
entirely funds one child’s holiday
£12.00

£65.00

£20.00
